A Chance Meeting? I Think Not!

So tonight our company arrived in town and we meant at a local restaurant for dinner. By the time we arrived it was later in the evening and the dinner rush was pretty much over leaving only a few patrons here and there. Informing the hostess that we had 10 in our group she quickly arranged two tables together for us. Sitting down we all began to chat and visit for a few minutes while looking over the menu. After a short time we had decided it was time to pray over the food. While praying, I heard someone say "Praise Jesus!"....this did not come from our table but from someone sitting behind me! When we finished praying I looked behind me and smiled at the couple sitting in the booth directly behind me. Smiling back he commented to us, "It's nice to see a Christian family praying" and agreeing one member of our party commented back, "Yes, it's not something you see too often". The conversation that followed was pretty cool. Come to find out this man had been in A.A. Allen's meetings, was prayed for by him and was very familiar with Bro. Branham. He had even seen the Halo picture. He asked lots of questions about Bro. Branham's meetings and the healings that took place. It really caught my attention that this man only asked about the healings and not the WORD! A.A. Allen's meetings didn't hold a candle to Bro. Branham's when it came to the outpouring of the Word and miracles. He asked about the Tabernacle and such. He commented that he had ran into a lot of people that went to the Tabernacle recently and I think it was peaking his interest even more. We mentioned visiting Voice of God and told him about the tours. After all this his companion (I presume it was his wife) was sitting there, with pants, short hair, and the whole nine yards. Once again I thought about how they wanted the miracles but not the WORD! Perhaps some day soon the Lord will open their eyes. He even asked to pray for my son. We certainly wasn't going to say "No" to him regarding this issue. I didn't get into explaining that he was already healed and such...didn't feel the leading for that. Kind of felt like it was part of the Lord's plan for the evening. He prayed a very sweet prayer and you could feel the Anointing....just like Bro. Branham said- you could have the Anointing and still not have the Word in your heart! Afterwards he gave us his card and said he wanted to know when his hand was finished growing...hmm.....wondering how the Lord might use this!

I don't usually blog about things like this. I tend to hold things in my heart very close and quiet. I'm trying to open up a bit more...something I've thought on for quite a while now...perhaps a bit of good therapy! lol Over the years I've always been a good listener but never really good about opening up...not that I didn't trust whom I was talking to, but it was just my nature and still is. There is a lot of things that I won't discuss because we shouldn't and I always try to look the the Positive....A lot of times I will say, "Look to the Promise". This is my way of saying, "Yes, there is this negative, but let's put that on the shelf and let the Lord take care of that...instead I'm going to look to the Positive and expect good things". More than anything I want to go beyond the surface so that others will know who I am deep down.

Tuesday....

I'm back! =D The lawn is mowed (T even weeded it today!), trimmed more bushes took T lunch, paid bills, did some laundry and went to the store....yet again....forgot the lousy toothpaste and dishwasher detergent! Didn't get to my wall repairs or paint, but hopefully will tomorrow. I'm hoping to squeeze some time in for making strawberry freezer jam for the kiddos...can't bring myself to buy that disgusting junk in the store they call jam! Meanwhile, I have started my 5th book in the last 2 1/2 weeks. Been reading a series from that library...can't hardly put it down, but I must in order to get something done!

3 miles on lawn mower
2 for trimming bushes

total to date = 36 miles mowed down! hehe...couldn't resist that one!

64 to go!

Busy day today. Tending the garden, trimming bush #1, one prosthetic appointment, more bush trimming (with more to go and don't forget bush #2- grrr!). Tomorrow will include lawn mowing, wall repairs with drywall mud, priming, painting, laundry and more. Hmm....maybe I should go to bed! lol

3 miles worth of trimming bushes!

31 miles trimmed off!

69 still to go!

Sunday!

Great day today. We did not get home until very late last night so we did not go to church this morning but instead heard a Tape at home..."Jesus Christ the Same, Yesterday, Today and Forever". He really said some things that caught our attention today....just fits so in line with what is happening....so timely! So wonderful and what a Sweet Spirit we had!

Had a yummy lunch right here at home and then I started in on the miles. Afterwards we headed out to visit with some family and ended the day with a yummy treat.....don't worry it was light and then I lightened it even more for me! =D Strawberry shortcake (I used angel food cake instead and then on my strawberries I used less that 1 tsp sugar for sweetness and then whipped topping that was low in calories. Why or why can't I be skinny and eat everything I want! lol

2.3 on the treadmill
1.5 hours in the pool
45 minutes of aerobics = 9 miles

Total- 28 miles killed!

Needless to say- I'm PooPED

This is summer vacation?!

I thought summer was supposed to be a time to relax? I guess you could say I've relaxed some from not doing school, but then I replace school with all these little "projects/chores" instead. On top of that I seem to always have the unexpected thrown into my path that leads to the completion of these tasks. Company will be coming soon...not staying here but will still be spending a lot of time with them...this is fun enjoyable time so I'm looking forward to it very much. So this makes me wonder what I can finish before they get here. As typical to my nature, I seem to work best under the gun. Gives me incentive to get moving.

Among daily life I would like to completed:

  • My 100 miles (July 17th is looking a little impossible but I will be racing to complete as fast as possible)
  • cleaning out bedrooms from old clothes.
  • Trim bushes in front yard
  • Make jam for fam (this task has mixed feelings....I love it, don't need it and am slightly afraid to have it in the house because I will eat it!)
  • order remaining portion of school books/supplies (I guess this should be at the top of the list...haha)
  • Sell some items on ebay that are cluttering my life
  • lose 30 pounds! haha....guess this should be at the top too! And yes, I highly doubt this will happen before end of summer, but would sure like to get a head start on it....this coincides with my 100 miles. =D
  • paint family room
  • paint master bedroom
  • paint little man's room
  • paint master bath after wall repairs
  • finish roof replacement....if we can ever get a few free days that has no rain in it then this might happen! Materials are here just need it to work out on the schedule! UGH! So close I can taste it!
  • Become a completely organized, on time/never late, skinny person that completes everything by noon everyday (including schooling)....is that asking too much? 8-O What can I say....I dream big! lol
So as you can see, I got things to do this summer....I'm pretty sure that several items won't be completed due to $$.....this is always as issue- ICK!

Added 2 more again this afternoon. Not sure if there will be more tonight....getting sleepy!

19 miles creamed and only 81 to go! 8-O

Back in the Saddle Again!

Howdy. Been a few days since I checked in. Had a stomach bug for about a week...was not real bad but kept me from accruing any miles. Now that I'm back to normal I hope to do some catching up. My 100 mile mark is looking very difficult right now, but I'm going to do my best!

3 miles the other day (mowing lawn)

4 miles tonight

Total = 17 blasted away! =D

Still Waters...

Been watching live update and really enjoying all the Lord is doing for our young people. Was really happy to see one in particular. Trusting that Still Waters is bringing peace to her weary soul! =D

3 miles last night.

10 miles blasted away....and only 90 to go! lol

7 miles destroyed!

WooHOO! Here's hoping I can walk tomorrow! lol

100 - 7 = 93 miles to go!

Starting Fresh

Well hello there! lol Long time no type to! Been busy and haven't stopped to blog. Now that life is slowing a bit- I stress a bit!- I would like to set some goals for myself. If I have something to aim for it seems to help me. That is the way I work best....that's just the way I roll! So here it goes. I want to log 100 miles by July 17th....=O That's a lot of road beneath my feet! As before, I'll count a mile as a mile and 20 minutes of other cardio as a mile.
You may ask why the sudden the challenge to myself. Well, I've been trying to get back in the same groove as I was in the at the end of last year. Been hard to do. Furthermore, I was at a birthday party recently and saw someone I knew from out west....she said that she had just had blood work done and they were telling her she was pre-diabetic! EEK! She is only about 2 years older than me and we're about the same size. That didn't make me a happy camper...for her or me! It's time to take care of the body that Jesus gave us while we're here on this earth.

I'll try to log my progress each night.

Peace Out!!

Food Galore!

Yesterday was Mother's Day and we had picnic that seemed to involve every fattening food know to man! lol Hotdogs, cheese burgers, mac n cheese, baked beans, chips, queso, potato salad, and jalapeno poppers. Then...there was dessert! Yikes! Red velvet cupcakes, carrot cake, eclair pudding cake and a strawberry cake. I'm trying not to dwell on what I consumed yesterday....trying!

But! on the upside I walked 4 miles yesterday! Thank you, thank you. Please, please hold all applause! lol

I'm hoping to log some serious miles in the next few weeks....it will take that long to burn what I ate! EEK!

Shiver Me Shingles!

Well, we did it....bought the shingles (and other materials) for our soon-to-be new roof. Just need a couple of more items and then watch the weather for a break in the rain. Can't wait! Just in the nick of time too...there is a leak in the roof somewhere over the kitchen. Water not coming in the house but we can tell that its getting wet up there anytime we have a large volume of rain.

You'd be proud! I exercised last night on my stair stepper and then lifted a few weights....gotta get moving more. I can tell the difference since I've been off the wagon. Don't like the feeling either! Dying to get out and play some tennis! HINT, HINT!!! lol That's ok, I'm sure no one is reading this anyway! LOL!

Hoping next week I'll be able to get a few extra things done. M is having minor ear surgery and will be out of commission for a couple of days when it comes to school. I am renewing my goal of exercising every day and will be posting mileage like before....mostly for my own pleasure!

Spring!

Ah, sweet Spring! You are here! Please stay! Been enjoying this awesome weather. Took advantage yesterday with some more planting. I know have watermelon, roma tomatoes, brandywine tomatoes, sweet cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, wax beans, oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, and cilantro planted! lol I still have chocolate tomatoes, green beans, red bell pepper and anaheim chilies to plant. Hoping for a great garden this year.

Update of floors- we're on the move around here these days. Carpet padding has been replaced, carpet relayed and professionally cleans. Actually looks pretty good! Go figure. And yes, its smells much better too! lol

Hardwood has been ripped out and we're waiting for a free moment to relay the hardwood which is now acclimating in my living room. I'm starting to finally feel like I'm recovering from all the mess, but can't wait until its all finished.

Back deck is done! WooHoo! Great job Hubby! It now just needs to be sealed. Check that baby off the list! =D

What's been happening in your world?

Ahh....the Sweet Life of Chaos

Yup! I'm lovin' this chaos- NOT! I didn't really think the chaos could get worse- boy was I wrong. Insurance company sent out another company to try to dry out the wood and carpet. Carpet was smelling like a wet dog but smelt much better after they cleaned in...notice I said "smelt"? Yup! Wet dog smell back! Grrr! Will be speaking with said insurance company first thing in the AM regarding the canine stench! Anywho, after inspection they agreed (well duh!) that the wood floor was ruined. After reporting back to the insurance they approved for the wood to be immediately torn up. T kind of snickered to himself...when he installed it he glued it down and he used really good glue. It was rather humorous to see the man attempt to pull it up and then quickly decided he was going to need some heavy duty tools to make it happen. Fine by T- since he won't be compensated for his time to pull up then might as well let them do it and the insurance pay for it. =) So the man will be back in the AM with help (he, he) to remove the wood. In comes more CHAOS! lol

Really, I'm ok with it. The end results will actually help us a lot in our goals for the house. =D It's just a matter with putting up with the mess a bit more. With that being said.....

Hope your Thursday is more serene than mine will be!

PEACE!

Juggling Projects.

Well, here we are and we're still standing! Today was a good day. T worked on the deck trying to get as much completed as possible before any thunderstorms moved in. I worked in the garden preparing soil and planting seeds in pots.

Didn't get another coat on cabinets...T was tired and I don't blame him- I was too!

Claim in process for floors so cross your fingers that that goes smoothly. Carpet is pulled back, part of padding removed and fans are blowing. Thank goodness it was 80 today! My cozy (a nice way to say it's stinkin' small!) home that was being spring cleaned and organized is now once again in chaos...I'm thinking I might as well stay in this realm instead of fighting it!

I hope we can finish a few of these projects before starting something else...I'm having a hard time deciding which one to work on! ha,ha.

Still waiting on taxes...the suspense is killing me!

Hope your Tuesday is kind to you!

To Dry out or Not to Dry Out?....That is the Question!

Water- do you really think about this resource often? How it affects our lives? Just think of all the good things it does for us:

  • keeps us hydrated
  • cleanses our hands/bodies
  • used for cleaning the home
  • waters the garden for us to have fresh produce
Lets face it the list could go on and on! But even though the pros of this precious resource are great, there is some cons....just ask Japan! In our little house we have experienced one of these "little" cons. Last night we came home to a very wet hardwood floor! =O Floor officially shot! Apparently, our refrigerator decided to somehow spew this precious resource all over the floor extending into the entry area and soaking about 2-3 feet into the carpet (not too sad about that one! lol). Oh well, honestly we're just not that upset over it. What good does it do to get upset? As the hubby and I discussed, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. We are very thankful that the Lord stopped the water from continuing into the rest of the house and destroying furniture and we're also thankful that the cause of the water damaged is covered by homeowners insurance! The only items effected were the hardwood, carpet and a few books became slightly damp. Thank You Lord! Claim has been filed with insurance and so in the next few days we shall see what happens.

And so goes the days of our lives! lol

So, how was your weekend?

Projects Galore!

And so the projects continue. Cabinets have coat of urethane on them, but need two more, sanded and then final coat...so close I can almost taste it- or maybe that's smell it! =-P Anywho, items currently in the works:

  • new deck (as we speak! =))
  • starting seeds for garden
  • spring cleaning/organizing
  • and I'm sure there's something else I can find to do!

It's such a glorious day! Enjoy everyone!

Ahh...To Be Dust Free!

Nothing like the feeling of "spring cleaning"! Dove knee deep into Little D's room...=O It was a disaster of epic proportions that I've been putting off for a while. Next on the agenda Little Man's room...it's not much better! They clean their rooms themselves, but this is a cleaning that only a desperate mother can accomplish! =) From there it's the master bedroom/bath.

During this time I've also been attempting to bring some sort of order back to the kitchen....I stress the word "attempting"! The cabinets are one step closer to being complete. They've been stained and now it's time for the polyurethane, but since hubby is working (not complaining for sure! =D) they will have to wait until he has some free time.

Until next time...

Shalom!

Getting Back on the Wagon

Well, it's time to kick it back in gear! Been off the wagon since Christmas time and having a hard time getting back in my groove, but the time has come! I think I've gained a little back but not all- Thank goodness!!! Wanted to walk today but it didn't work out on several levels.

On the upside- taxes are done! WooHOO!! We have lots of tasks on the list around here. T is still working on cabinets. It's a big job but it's coming along and we're nearing the finish line. =) Other tasks I see on the horizon (not necessarily in the order listed):

  • painting my bedroom and bath
  • new carpeting in main room
  • repainting M's bedroom
  • new deck in the back
  • the garden
  • new roof
and "yes", there is more if you can believe it! lol

Peace!

What a Glorious Day!

That the Lord hath made! I am rejoicing and glad in it! =D The sun is shinning, the birds are singing, kiddies are playing outside and I'm smiling. Been sick this last week with a nasty cold/cough but seem to be bouncing back from it. This weather is putting me in the mood for getting the garden ready. Not going to say much more- heading back outside! Enjoy!

Never a Dull Moment

Got lots happening around here. Of course the usual- homeschool!, cleaning, baking bread (a new passion!) and now T is working on the cabinets! WooHoo! He has been working on it in spurts, but decided to go all out since work is slow. Lord willing, very soon we'll have brand new looking cabinets! Can't wait!

Yes, I've gotten really into my bread baking again...was doing a lot of it a few years back and then stopped. I love fresh baked bread. So I'm in search of new recipes to try and I'm even thinking of posting a sign in the yard advertising! I think I need to do a little more baking before I do that though. Next on my list- pretzels! I've made them before and they were delish! Just haven't done it in a while.

Been doing crummy on the whole weight loss thing. Got out of my groove since Christmas and still trying to get back in it. I have to put my mind in a new mindset and get a goal in mind...which I already have really....

Upwards and Onwards!

New Background....

I have been forced to choose a new background. This will have to do for now. Oh well. lol

Monday, January 17, 2011

Burgers, BBQ, Brownies & Buddies

YES!

This is the extent of my weekend....scary but true. Why is it that fun times with friends/fam are centered around yummy foods? Why can't we all get together and do jumping jacks of something! lol I know....not practical. Jumped on the scale today and almost screamed....I'm up a few pounds and don't like it. Gotta get back to my cardio asap! I have a new goal in mind...that's the way I work best. Short term goals. Pick a date and go for it.

Last week was a long and stressful for me and I'm glad it's over! I still have some busy days coming ahead of me, but now my thoughts are a little clearer and I'm on a roll.

Hubby is busy going through tax receipts...can you believe it?! =D I'm excited to file taxes as quickly as possible this year just so that I don't have to think about it and I can get on with my life.

See ya!

ReGrouping

Time to get back on the band wagon...the holidays are over and so is the bad eating....I HOPE! lol I have to start back to my rigorous cardio routine....It's amazing how different I feel when I'm not working out and also how I handle stress.....with cardio I hardly notice it....no cardio- I eat it!

With Christ all things are possible!

Only Believe
